12" x 24" x 1.5" Gallery wrapped heavy duty canvas Professional Frame construction with kiln-dried, beveled stretcher bars $70.00 With the snow, strong winds and freezing temps outside, I decided to get started on my painting. I'm excited as I've got various nautical themed ideas I want to paint and can't wait to do more. This painting will be at REDEEMED by the end of February 2015. Bev

2/10/2015 0 Comments Repurposing a CrockI wasn't happy with the color of a crock I bought recently at our local 2nd hand store. So I painted it and gave it the shabby look. Check out the process below. The original color was a very dark glossy brown. Anybody know how old these crocks are? I then painted it white with some chalk paint. Let it dry overnight and then printed out what I wanted on the crock, in this case 603 SPRUCE. I took the sheet of paper and used a crayon in the back to outline the numbers and letters then transferred the design onto the crock. I used black acrylic paint to paint on the design. Let it dry overnight and finally used Annie Sloan clear and dark wax. Clear wax to give it that semi-shimmer and dark wax to give it that old, dirty shabby look. This crock will be placed outside on our front porch by the entry door. I will keep it indoors until the weather gets a little nicer outside. I can put it out now but I'd rather not.
So what do you think? Got a crock you'd love to repurpose? Give me a call or email and let's talk about it, just go to my contact page. |
