1/30/2016 0 Comments Grand Central Station Wood SignIf your kitchen is like mine, it can sometimes feel like Grand Central Station, am I right? Even if it's just myself, hubby, three cats and one dog. We have a medium size kitchen and having everyone in it at the same time I am constantly bumping into hubby or tripping over a four-legged and that's the part I hate the most. When my sister comes over, we seem to gather in the kitchen where there's tons of cooking and chatter and that's the part I do like. Next thing you know, our hubby's are in there too trying to grab a taste of this or that and all the four-leggeds appear hoping someone will drop something for them to scarf up. Super Bowl Sunday my kitchen will definitely feel like Grand Central Station as we host our annual party. I made one for the shop and I made another for my kitchen/workshop. You can find this sign at REDEEMED Furniture Home & Decor in Manistee, MI.

1/26/2016 2 Comments The Making of 3D Wall ArtFOR THIS PAINTING I USED: 1 wood sign (I put together some scrap wood slabs) White chalk paint Drafting compass Pencil Drafting eraser Americana Decor Chalk paint in Everlasting, Vintage, Serene, Timeless, Carbon and Treasure, Americana Acrylic paints in Tuscan Red, Ultra Deep Blue, Wasabi Green, Paprika, Amethyst and Primary Red Martha Stewart Vintage Decor Paint (chalk finish) in Cantaloupe Fabric Scissors Fabric Stiffener Hemp Cord thread or Cross-stitch floss Staple gun Painted wood sign with white chalk paint and then let it dry. Pencil drew the picture of the bike I used a compass to make perfect shaped circles Once happy with the drawing, I painted away I first made a cardboard template of a single banner and then cut four pieces from each fabric pattern. I then threaded the hemp cord through the tops of each banner piece as shown. I sprayed the banner with some fabric stiffener and let it dry. I then stapled the excess cord to the back of the sign. I'm so tempted to keep this painting. It would look perfect in my beach themed bathroom but because it's so easy, I can go ahead and paint another one. You can buy this one at REDEEMED in Manistee, Michigan.

A little trip down memory lane This was Studio M22's Booth #13 back in November 2014 - when the store first opened. It consisted of two tables covered in canvas and two wobbly barn doors as the back drop. Summer 2015. Booth #13 moved to another location within the store. This time I had a STURDY fence wall! Yay! My barn doors were placed on the sides to give me even more wall space. Over the Christmas holiday, I decided to draw up a new plan for Booth #13 and then I put hubby to work! Here he's installing a wood panel which gives me a little over a foot of more wall space. Another panel will be installed below it. Both panels cover the old fence wall. The panels were painted white Hubby is measuring the railing In the meantime, I'm painting a door red The floor tile (we need to buy more) has been installed, the railing has been painted and the red door put in it's place Construction 90% complete! Woohoo! Now it's time to decorate!! I wanted a "front porch" look. I'm thrilled to be able to hang seasonal wreaths from the door, the possibilities are endless. I have more items to put in my booth so I better getting going. Feel free to stop by Studio M22's Booth 13 at Manistee's favorite and popular artisan mall, REDEEMED Furniture and Home Decor. There are over 30 vendors so feel free to roam around. There are all kinds of unique gifts and decor for your home. Seeing is believing, you'll be amazed! Thanks for stopping by! Bev DeVerney Cole Studio M22 My booth at the Redeemed artisan mall in Manistee is under a major over haul. So far we (hubby and I) have been able to put up one wall panel and have painted two. Adding height to my small space will allow me to hang up more signs. We still have a long way to go in completing our project and I hope we can finish it soon. So in the meantime while at home this is what I'm working on. Little heart shaped sachets scented with Dolce Gabbana's - Light Blue. I have them hanging on my little tree and they're only $4.99 each.
I will add more pictures as we progress along. Thanks for stopping by, Bev |
