1/26/2016 2 Comments The Making of 3D Wall ArtFOR THIS PAINTING I USED: 1 wood sign (I put together some scrap wood slabs) White chalk paint Drafting compass Pencil Drafting eraser Americana Decor Chalk paint in Everlasting, Vintage, Serene, Timeless, Carbon and Treasure, Americana Acrylic paints in Tuscan Red, Ultra Deep Blue, Wasabi Green, Paprika, Amethyst and Primary Red Martha Stewart Vintage Decor Paint (chalk finish) in Cantaloupe Fabric Scissors Fabric Stiffener Hemp Cord thread or Cross-stitch floss Staple gun Painted wood sign with white chalk paint and then let it dry. Pencil drew the picture of the bike I used a compass to make perfect shaped circles Once happy with the drawing, I painted away I first made a cardboard template of a single banner and then cut four pieces from each fabric pattern. I then threaded the hemp cord through the tops of each banner piece as shown. I sprayed the banner with some fabric stiffener and let it dry. I then stapled the excess cord to the back of the sign. I'm so tempted to keep this painting. It would look perfect in my beach themed bathroom but because it's so easy, I can go ahead and paint another one.
